Beaconsfield JFC are excited to announce that we will be partnering with the Beehive Foundation. Over a 3-year period they will work with our coaching teams to build positive experiences for players and club volunteers alike. In what will be an extensive and innovative development program, the coaching team will be empowered to continue to build a fair and safe environment within the club that will help develop important life skills in young players to help them achieve their full potential both on and off the field.

Sponsorship Opportunity

Do you own a local business and often wonder how you could advertise your product. Beaconsfield Junior Football club is searching for a sponsor who would be interested contributing monies towards the new ‘warm up’ jackets for our brand new Under 8 teams.

In return, your company name would be on the back of the jackets as well as free website and Face book exposure. These jackets are usually worn by the players at training sessions, game day and you will also see them on the weekends around the town as casual wear. The target amount we would like to achieve is $2000.

U15 Blue Team Training Camp

The Beaconsfield Junior Football Club U15 Blue team and coaching staff undertook a team building, leadership and community camp at Grantville Lodge from 6th to 8th March, 2015.

Arriving Friday evening they settled in to a BBQ dinner, followed by a trivia night where new team members were able to bond with existing players.  After team-based activities on the Saturday, such as the Amazing Race followed by a skills session held at Kilcunda-Bass training ground, they headed back to Grantville Lodge where a team meeting discussed the upcoming seasons game plan, and brainstormed their 2015 team motto – ‘Never Own Defeat’ which was derived from the meaning given to the Spirit of the Anzac.

Sunday morning before heading home, the Coach – former AFL player for Collingwood, Chris Curran had organised with locals to offer a community service by assisting an (elder) local resident, with some yard chores that have become a little overwhelming at her large property. The entire team spent an hour or so laying new mulch to garden beds, as well as cleaning up branches and garden debris.  The team then headed down to the Grantville foreshore and managed to clean up large quantities of rubbish along the beach scrub, which had either been dumped or discarded, unfortunately detracting from the enjoyment to be had at the beach.

The Beaconsfield Junior Football Club are aware of the challenges kids/youths face with in today’s society and although involvement in local sporting clubs form a minor part of their lives, they have acknowledged the fact they need to be there to help them through, not only their football journey, but also helping them through the other challenges of their life and become better people through any influence the club may have.

The camp was designed to enhance some of existing programs the Beaconsfield Junior Football Club have in place, such as the Leadership Academy.

Implementing a Leadership Academy at the club aimed at the U15, U17 and Youth Girls age groups has proved extremely successful. The leadership program – although not compulsory, obviously encourages all players in these older (junior) age groups to get involved.  It’s a great opportunity to gain experience to areas of the club and game that perhaps they wouldn’t normally be exposed to.  At the same time, the kids have the chance to give back to the club with their time and gain an appreciation of how much work is done behind the scenes to get them all on the field each week.

The Beaconsfield JFC has been able to create crucial partnerships with other footballing communities – the Senior Club, local Auskick centres and the Casey Scorpions to offer a wide range of opportunities. The leadership program is a great opportunity for the kids to experience the club in a different light, to ‘give back’, get involved in the junior club, senior club and ultimately develop their leadership, communication and community skills.

This program was developed with the assistance of the Beehive Foundation which has undertaken a 3-year partnership at Beaconsfield JFC to assist all our coaches in providing development by way of a series of presentations given throughout the season, with continuing coaching support as required.

The coaching staff is well aware that as a club they are involved only in a volunteer capacity, however must continue to set the high standards of development that hopefully can separate Beaconsfield Junior Football Club from other sporting organisations.
